Blackjack offers 20 trails, 2 Half Pipes & 2 snowboarding park and Nastar racing on 101 skiable acres with 360 total acres with vertical drop of 465 ft.. There are snowboard lessons and rental, a ski school, children’s programs and a nursery available. New to Blackjack is a “Just For Kids” beginner area. Family lift tickets are available. Snowboards welcome on all runs.

Mother Nature’s natural snow is enhanced even further with the help of 52 snow guns at Indianhead Mountain!

You’ll experience the highest vertical drop in Michigan or Wisconsin and you’ll see spectacular, panoramic views of Lake Superior. The Porkies are home to one of the first alpine ski areas in the Midwest as well as some of the most scenic Nordic ski trails in the entire Great Lakes region.

Sporting a vertical drop of 641 feet, the Porcupine Mountains Ski Area has 15 runs that are served by a triple chair, double chair, T-bar, and handle tow. The chalet offers ski and snowboard rentals, pro shop, rest rooms, fireplaces, public phone, National Ski Patrol, and cafeteria. Lessons are available. The area also offers a topnotch 42-km cross-country trail system.

Mt. Zion Ski Area

The oldest ski area in “Big Snow Country”. Mt. Zion is owned by Gogebic Community College and is operated by its Ski Area Management Program. Mt. Zion has a 300 vertical drop and has 9 slopes and trails. Downhill and snowboard rentals are available. Two kilometers of groomed and track cross-country ski trails are available. Mt. Zion offers reasonable skiing and rental rates.
